The California Art Licensing Overview

Welcome to The California Art! This page outlines the terms and conditions for using our designs for commercial purposes. By purchasing and using our designs, you agree to the following licensing terms. Please review them carefully to ensure compliance. 

Physical Products for Sale
Permitted Use:
  • You may use our designs on physical products, including but not limited to t-shirts, mugs, laser-cut projects, signs, prints, stickers, and more.
  • There are no quantity restrictions on selling these physical items worldwide.
  • You may sell these products in your own store, craft fairs, and online marketplaces, excluding wholesale and third-party sales.
Restrictions:
  • Wholesale and third-party distribution are not allowed.
  • Digital copies of our designs cannot be provided with the physical product.
  • The license is non-exclusive, meaning others can use the same designs.
Digital End Products
Permitted Use:
  • You may incorporate our designs into customized digital products, such as invitations, planners, and presentations.
  • Digital files must be flattened (JPEG or PDF) to prevent extraction or modification.
  • You must add additional creative elements (e.g., backgrounds, graphics) that significantly transform and differentiate the design from its original form.
Restrictions:
  • Reselling or distributing digital files that include our designs—whether original, modified, or in other formats—is strictly prohibited.
  • Digital products must not compete directly with our original designs.
  • Designs cannot be used as standalone elements; they must be integrated into a unique product.
Print-on-Demand (POD) Usage
Permitted Use:
  • You may use our designs on POD platforms (e.g., Redbubble, Teespring, Printify) with significant creative modifications.
  • Your final product must include unique elements that distinguish it from the original design.
Restrictions:
  • Our original designs cannot be sold as standalone artwork on POD sites.
  • Designs must be incorporated into a newly created product with substantial creative additions.
Prohibited Uses
  • Selling digital files of our designs, whether modified or unmodified.
  • Converting our designs into different formats for resale.
  • Selling individual design elements extracted from our files.
  • Sharing, trading, or redistributing our designs.
  • Using our designs in logos, trademarks, or brand identities.
  • Distributing our files for free, even for personal use.
  • Claiming copyright or ownership of our designs.
  • Engaging in wholesale or third-party sales of physical products using our designs.
  • Using our designs in any unlawful, defamatory, or offensive content.
Subscription Policy
  • If you cancel your subscription, you may continue selling physical products created while your subscription was active.
  • However, you may not create new products using previously downloaded designs unless purchased separately.
General Licensing Terms
  • Our designs are licensed, not sold—you are granted non-exclusive rights to use them under these terms.
  • All rights not expressly granted are reserved by The California Art.
